Beginning of a Trend?

Arizona will be voting on a proposition which will protect residents from being forced to participate in government-run health care plans.
The Healthcare Freedom Bill provides for two fundamental rights:
  1. The right to spend your own money to seek out and receive health care services that are otherwise legal.
  2. The right to choose NOT to participate in any health care system, of any type.
As always, I'm astounded that such a law is necessary. The notion that government can hold a gun to your head and force you to participate in a health care program that you don't want is a fundamental violation of freedom. It makes no sense that a state should have to pass a law to prevent government from doing something it doesn't have the authority to do in the first place.

I wonder if we'll see other states following suit.
