Tolerance: private vs. public schools

Jay Greene reports on a study done by the Goldwater Institute which looks at students' perceptions of civic tolerance, diversity, and volunteerism. The results suggest that private school kids are clearly more open to outside groups and viewpoints. As Greene concludes,
These results however strongly debunk the notion that private schools function as intolerance boot camps. In fact, it is much easier to build that sort of a case against public schools with the available data, though more research ought to be done.
Note: The text in the graphs Green uses are hard to read. They can be seen much more clearly in the actual report.
